The king of Calex has died, and the Realm stands at a perilous
tipping point in history. Baltigo, a Celestial messenger, is dispatched
with that message to Morsmetak—the city of the Necromancers. But it soon
becomes evident that the sudden death of the king has triggered a chain
of dark events.
After an assassination attempt on his life, Baltigo narrowly escapes
the city of the half-dead, which is fully armed and prepared for battle.
He is rescued by the royal guard, but then discovers that he himself,
as a messenger, has unwittingly ignited the war—without realizing it.
Why was the guard there? And why was he, an innocent messenger, the key
instigator of the war?
Furthermore, the gates of Skrilex have been opened: the underground
prison of the Demons. Who will stop these wicked forces, and what dark
power is behind all this? In a world of magic, treachery and ambition,
